The Rehabilitation Guide is a tool designed
to help mining companies draw up a rehabilitation plan. It deals,
in particular, with the main features of the plan, such as its structure
and technical content, and general rehabilitation requirements.
The Guide is divided into three sections:
the first section explains the provisions
of the Mining Act, specifies the measures
to follow a temporary cessation of activities,
and presents the general requirements for mine
site rehabilitation;
the second section sets out the elements that must be part of
each plan, for both exploration and extraction projects;
the third section states to follow for submitting
a plan, described the evaluation process, and
details the various acceptable forms of financial
guarantees.
