Description

Blackish grey, fine-grained, massive limestone, with millimetric calcareous shale interbedding. The limestone belongs to Unit 2 of the Simard Formation. Beds are typically 10 to 20 cm thick. The stone has been quarried since 1960, in Saint-Honoré, in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region. It is used to produce landscaping stone.
