Description
Bluish- to brownish-tinged dark grey, fine-grained,
siliceous limestone in nearly horizontal beds 5 to 20 cm thick.
It belongs to the Grondines Member of the Neuville Formation (Trenton
Group). Quarried in Québec, in the Capitale-Nationale
Region, since the 1920s, the stone is used for masonry: walls, retaining
walls, foundations, flagstone and exterior finishes for construction.
